This may seem surprising at first; Vuitton is typically chic and glamorous, consistent with other Spring 2000 trends... .. In this case, however, Louis Vuitton Spring 2000 is curious, and alludes to the Spring 2000 collection of more cavalier designers such as Christian Dior, John Galliano, and the London crowd. Why? Because Vuitton matches patterns and prints with more refined shapes, like traveling shorts. Individually the pieces are wonderful, together they can be distracting... .. While others, like Dolce & Gabbana, are cleverly creating new glamorous styles from previously untried combinations... .. Appealing or not, the trend is certainly interesting. Louis Vuitton's cotton top with geometric shapes (sketch shown at right) paired with cream or tan cotton short-shorts, gets our nod for the Spring 2000 trend of wild. | | Spring 2000 Trend: Wild | Dolce & Gabbana - zip-front fitted pink jacket with floral prints and rhinestones | Iceberg - zig-zag slate-blue, cream, and pink border around large LOVE print, in various textures (conversation piece) | Chanel - silk-chiffon blouse with undershirt (Chanel embedded logo makes this experimental) | Versace - chain-mail hotpink dress with tie straps | Emporio Armani - denim top with off-center zipper to right-shoulder | Nina Ricci - spring dress with green, pink, and black horizontal stripes | Chloe - cowgirl camisole with jeweled frills | Versace - blue nylon silk disco pants cut at the hips | Giorgio Armani - rayon low-cut cardigan in light orchid with zipper front | | | | Spring 2000 Fashion Design Trends and Symbols (©2000 Metrofashion) | | | | | | | | | |
