Passport99: Spectacular Fashion Display..

Metrofashion- The
Passport99 (American Express Evening) Fashion Show was glamourous and charming,
strengthening the major role in fashion events that the Macy's Passport
series will play in the future. There were evening gowns and contemporary
casual wear, and the models had some fun with period costume peices. Who
were the major designers? Tommy Hilger, Cynthia Rowley, Julie Chaken, Nicholas
Graham, and others...

Modeling Agencies Everyone who
is anyone in the model agency world contributed to the Passport99 Fashion
Show, including Ford Models, City Model Management, Stars the Agency, and
Look Model Agency. Well, almost- where was Elite? The models were regal
throughout, and Men's Health Magazine got into the act with some of their
top cover models. Beauty on the stage, in the wardrobe, and throughout the
audience. At one point in the show, Host Sharon Stone said to a woman seated
next to the catwalk, "I bet you used to be up here doing the walk!"..

For the women, the Fashion Show was quintessential American, with Tide-bright
whites, popular khaki skirts and neutral blouses and dresses, and bold mono-colored
cable-knit wool sweaters. The models themselves were varied in appearance,
some Mediteranean, some European, some classic American. Speaking of the
modeling world, Cindy Crawford hosted the opening Fashion Show on Thursday
night of the event. ..
..
"Body" was the catch phrase for the men. Joe Boxer made a big splash with
"patriotic" underwear collection, where the striking male models showed
off their buff physics in bold red, white, and blue designs. Even Jerry
Rice, the famous San Francisco 49ers professional football player, participated,
showing his chest underneath a brilliant white winter coat...
..
And the music was eccletic - from glam rock to gospel to deep house. One
of the highlights of the show was a performance of "This Little Light of
Mine" by the City of Refuge Restoration Choir that got the audience and
models on stage clapping and singing.
