Macy's Passport99: Corporate Sponsor Bonanza

©1999 metrofashion- The 1999 Macy's Passport99 Fashion Show was a bonanza for corporate sponsors. Hanging high above the party-goers in the reception lounge were dozens of sponsor banners trumpeting support of the HIV/AIDS charity event. Organizations from a wide range of industries were represented, admonishing the broad appeal that AIDS research funding now enjoys.

From the fashion world, Passport99 drew major sponsors that included Emporio Armani Fragrances, Joe Boxer, Levis, Style Magazine, Tommy Hilfiger, and Men's Health Magazine, as well as names like fashion apparel fossilFossil, Liz Claiborne, Kenneth Cole, Lancome Paris, Calvin Klein Cosmetics, and many more. The strong support of the fashion industry was readily apparent in the well-dressed attendees, many of whom were associated with sponsor organizations.

Media industry sponsors included The San Jose Mercury News, The San Francisco Chronicle, Gannet Pacific Group Newspapers, and many others. Even television got in on the act with sponsorship from the popular soap opera, "The Bold and the Beautiful." For "Bold" fans, there is great cast photograph in the Passport99 Program.

Not to be outdone, the industrial world also partnered with Macy's to sponsor Passport99; some names included Evian©, Lucent Technologies, Wells Fargo, and Cellular One. Many of the sponsor banners included corporate logos, giving the reception attendees a visual display of the companies that pledged their support for AIDS research.
