FASHION PROFILE
News Avril Lavigne has a new fashion line called "Abbey Dawn". The Avril Lavigne fashion line will debut in Kohl's Department stores as part of the Back to School fashion season. Abbey Dawn is a lifestyle brand that reflects Avril Lavigne rock star energy and style. Avril Lavigne has her own style based on a palette of pinks and blacks that young American girls love. Abbey Dawn catalog.

San Francisco Chronicle is covering the emergence of the Mission District in San Francisco as a a style center. Some of the fashion designers chronicled include Dema Grim of Dema on Valencia Street with patterned blouses, dresses, and skirts and Wendy Mullin with reinterpreted American classics like gingham tops for self-styled hipsters. At least one of the designers covered in the story, Saffron Rare Threads, has shown at San Francisco Fashion Week, which is off in 2008.

The Diane Von Furstenberg American Express commercial series seen throughout the spring fashion season appears during episodes of Project Runway. American Express has contributed to the Council of Fashion Designers (CFDA)/Vogue Fashion Fund for rising fashion stars and provides exclusive seating for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week events. Diane Von Furstenberg says the American Express Card is a symbol of independence and empowerment for women.
