The Lindvall photo shoot is done by marksman Gilles Bensimon who utilizes Lidvall's perfect look of youth to show the composure in Spring 2000 designs... .. Elle takes a slightly different approach to Spring 2000 presentation, spending less time on period comparisons and more on discussing how the new chic coincides with new attitudes among young women. .. .. The spreads are full of prim-and-proper, down to the "cheerleading" coverage of collegiate fashion, yet the tone is distinctly risk-taking. Esther Canadas and Mark Vanderloo tease each other while showing off Narciso Rodriguez, Anne Klein embroidery, and Versace chain-mail. .. .. Do the precious youth also have all the precious wealth? Elle seems to think so; in the signature story of Spring 2000 elegance, titled "Leisure Class", photographer Manuela Pavesi shows off twenty-somethings donning cashmere colors, camel jackets, and loads of stones on the wrist, neck, and waist... .. Elle may appear to sell high, but the ads are much more revealing. Dominated by accessories, albeit pricey choices, Elle acknowledges that the junior set may need help dressing up the limited wardrobe they have. Forget the ballroom gowns at the top and the trashy cutoffs at the bottom, Elle aims solidly for the classy middle.
