fashion at the Golden Globes is always a feast for the eyes, and the
2005 Golden Globes fashion was no exception. Favorite frock colors
included silvers, whites, warm beige tones, and bright sunset colors
like lemon yellow, violet, orange and fuschia pink. Black, always
a safe bet, looked especially notable on Golden Globe winner Glenn
Close. She looked ravishing in a scalloped black lace illusion dress
by the late fashion designer Geoffrey Beene, paying homage to his
legacy.
Joelyn Richardson conjured up visions of Princess Diane and Grace
Kelly in a vintage tribute by Kathryn Walker. She wore an elegant,
white strapless chiffon column evening dress with matching shawl.
Golden Globe winner Mariska Hargitay was captivating in one of the
many bright sherbert colors of the evening, an asymmetric one shoulder
gown in violet satin charmeuse by Vera Wang.
Teri Hatcher accepted her Golden Globe in a flowing grey and silver
Donna Karan evening glown, spectacular for Spring 2005 special occasion.
Complete with handcut, embroidered hemline, captivating low v-back,
and twisted v-neckline, the evening dress was resplendent in contrasting
panels of satin charmeuse and chiffon. Portia de Rossi won best original
gown by Valentino - a cap sleeve ivory concoction finished off with
waist embellishments of Chanel-like gold and pearl strands. Channel
showed their Top5 best fashions.
Suits of choice for the men were Dior, Gucci, Prada, with Ewan McGregor
a standout in a slim and sleek black Dior.
